Things to do in Central Arlington

-Aquatic centers: The Arlington Aquatics Center features an Olympic size public pool with a diving well and two water slides.

The Cooper Street Pool is smaller but has activities for kids on the weekends, such as swimming lessons and games. There are also three other neighborhood pools in central Arlington that offer free admission to anyone living within their district boundaries (see map).

-Recreation Centers: The Arlington Sportsplex features a massive indoor recreation center with an NHL size ice rink, a public pool that is open year round and two full court basketball courts.

The Arlington Skate Park has ramps for skateboards, bikes and rollerblades as well as tennis courts and picnic areas. It also offers BMX biking lessons on Sundays!

-Nature centers: Central Arlington boasts three nature centers within walking distance of each other including the Carver Nature Center which sits along White Rock Creek near downtown; Deer Ridge Reserve at Heritage Green, which includes over 800 acres of protected green space in addition to its awesome hiking trails (see map) ; or the Huntley Meadows Environmental Learning Area where you can explore native plants and animals.

-Parks: The Arlington Fort Worth Nature Preserve is a place to explore nature and includes over 600 acres of wildlife habitat, including an area designated as Texas State Natural Area. There are also many smaller parks in Central Arlington that you can visit on your walk or bike ride home from the neighborhood pool!
