A small neighborhood with a population of just over 700, the McKamy Evers neighborhood is located in Denton. The main attractions are its public library and close proximity to I-35.
The area is also home to an affordable housing complex that was built in 1965, making it one of the city’s oldest developments. Many other subdivisions were developed after this time period – while they may be newer than the McKamy Evers subdivision, some could argue that they’re not as desirable due to their older age.
McKamy has been split into two areas: west and east (the latter having most residents). Residents living on West McEwen Street have complained about noise coming from East McEwen Street late at night.
