The first inhabitants of Tampa Palms were the Seminole Indians. They used it as a hunting ground and early settlers found their homes on this land for themselves. In 1917, after being recognized by President Woodrow Wilson in his speech about World War I which was delivered from Philadelphia to Congress, Tampa Palms Lake Park was established. Along with an artificial lake, picnic tables and shelters are available.
Tampa Palms history is surely rich and is full of the culture and heritage that makes our city so unique.
Another thing about the history of Tampa Palms is that there is a lot of natural beauty to be found. It’s home to the largest section of mangrove estuary in Hillsborough County. This area promotes bird watching, fishing and shell collecting for all ages.
