Deer Hollow was originally settled by a group of German immigrants in 1882. The neighborhood is bounded on the north-west side from IH 410 to Loop 1604, south and east by SH 151 (Bandera Road) and west by Foster Rd.
Historically Deer Hollow has been predominantly residential with commercial establishments mainly located along Bandera Rd. However, as San Antonio TX continues to grow more people are choosing this location for its affordability and convenience. Today there are nearly 1000 residents living here plus many pets which make it one of the most populous neighborhoods in town!
As you can see below, Deer Hollow offers easy access to many attractions around San Antonio TX including two great schools: Johnson High School at 13201 Nacogdoches Rd and Jay High School at 14010 Jones Maltsberger.
Today, Deer Hollow is a mixture of residential and commercial properties. The neighborhood’s close proximity to Loop 1604, I-410, Highway 151 (Bandera Rd) and Foster Road makes it the perfect location for commuters who work in areas such as downtown San Antonio TX or Stone Oak Shopping Center.
