The Arlington neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Jacksonville FL. In fact, it was founded by a group of investors back in 1883! The neighborhood has been through some tough times like many other historic districts and has always rebounded because of community-driven efforts.
In 1969 there were just over 100 houses on the market; today that number is near 400 which means this old neighborhood has seen its fair share of redevelopment projects recently! It’s exciting to see so many new people move into these homes, especially with all the services available for an active older generation. There are plenty of parks here too, such as Baymeadows Dog Park and Soutel Memorial Garden – both popular spots where residents can socialize or exercise.
While Arlington is a little rough around the edges, it’s still an attractive neighborhood that has been able to retain its historic charm. The major redevelopment projects and new residents have only helped improve this old but proud home of Jacksonville FL!
