Franklinton is a neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It is located on the east side of Downtown and includes several public parks such as Scioto Audobon Park.
This area was first settled in 1824 by George Scholz who constructed a mill for grinding cornmeal near what would become the intersection of Broad Street with Long Street (now Whetstone Drive). The settlement that grew around this mill became known as Franklintown after its founder.
