-Every year in the month of March, McKamy Evers hosts its Spring Clean Up. Citizens from Denton and other nearby areas come out to help pick up trash along all the roadsides and trails.
The cleanup is funded by donations collected at McKamy Evers’ concession stand over the course of a week before the event takes place. This year there were around 75 volunteers picking up garbage for about two hours that day. It was nice to see so many people taking care of such an important issue!
Coordinators say they plan on hosting more events like this one throughout 2019 as well, with construction projects happening soon too! For those interested in participating next time or volunteering their time elsewhere within Highland Village you can sign up for their email list.
