Lochemere has a number of annual events that residents and visitors can enjoy. The Cary Volunteer Rescue Squad is hosting the 11th Annual Chili Cook-off on Saturday, December 20 at noon until four in the afternoon to benefit research into cures for cancer. There will be live music by Travis Anderson & Friends from 12:30 p.m. until the event’s end.
Parks and Recreation will host their annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, December 20 from 11 a.m.-noon at Cary Towne Center Mall in the lower level of Sears Court near Macy’s department store entrance off Walnut Street between noon-four p.m.. It includes arts & crafts, holiday decorations, games for children and music.
The Cary Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at the historic courthouse in downtown on Thursday, December 18 from around five to six p.m. The tree is located next to Main Street near Academy Street behind the old courtroom building with a live nativity scene that has been added this year.
