Some of our favorite events include:

-Arlington Taste (local chefs cooking for your taste buds!)    -Annual Children’s Parade, where kids dress up as their favorite movie or cartoon character and march through town while being cheered by crowds who line the streets! You can even participate if you want – just come out dressed as your favorite kid-friendly costume! It runs from 12pm until about three o’clock, so there will be plenty of time for games after that! And don’t worry folks, this is a family event, so don’t be surprised if you spot some grandparents out there with their grandchildren!

-Arlington International Festival (a four day celebration of international culture)

-Annual Arboretum Art Show

A few other highlights to mention:

-They have a monthly farmer’s market in the Courthouse Parking lot on Saturdays from 11am until about three o’clock. If you love fresh produce and plenty of baked goods, this is your place! It has an amazing variety for any budget – everyone should come at least once before it ends up being too cold or raining. There are even vendors who sell homemade tamales to help keep people warm during those colder seasons when folks might not want to go outside much anymore.

-The Annual Chamber of Commerce Chili Cookoff is always a fun event, with plenty of mouthwatering chili to satisfy the heartiest appetites.

-They also have an annual pet parade! They’re all about supporting any and all animals in our community – even those without four legs. So bring your pets out for a day that’s just as much theirs as it is ours! It runs from 12pm until around three o’clock. And don’t forget: dogs must be on leash during this event, so if you want to participate then make sure he/she has one handy!

It isn’t hard to find something to do here in East Arlington – there are festivals every month or two, and these events are a great way to get involved with the community!
