Jacksonville FL is home to a fantastic array of annual events that keep the entire community involved. One event, the Arlington Christmas Parade, starts in late November and ends on December 23rd. This parade has been around for more than 30 years!
The Jacksonville Jazz Festival started back in 1973 as an extension of the jazz program at Florida Community College at Jacksonville’s (then called John Giesecke Jr. Technical College). The festival takes place over three days during Memorial Day weekend and features some major headliners including Harry Connick Jr., Sting, Kenny Loggins and Chicago Blues Brothers Band with Dan Aykroyd & Jim Belushi among others scheduled to appear this year.
In October each year, Dupont-Loch Slough-Broad Creek manatee sanctuary hosts the Annual Manatee Festival which highlights these friendly giants of the sea with games, music and tons of other activities for kids.
